Trust Note (“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is a privacy-focused notes app. This policy explains what data the app uses and where it is stored.

1. Data we do not collect

• We do not collect your note text, titles, categories, or images on our servers.

• We do not require an account or login.

• We do not sell your data.
  

2. Data stored only on your device

The following data stays on your phone or tablet and is not sent to our servers:

• Notes: Note text, titles, categories, and creation/update times.

• Images: Photos you attach to notes (taken with the camera or chosen from your photo library) are stored locally in the app’s database.

• App lock: If you enable App Lock, only a secure, one-way derived value of your PIN is stored on your device (we never store your actual PIN).

• Preferences: Settings such as theme (light/dark/system) and app lock timeout are stored locally on your device.
  

3. Use of device permissions

• Camera: Used only so you can take photos to attach to notes. Photos are saved only into the app’s local storage on your device. We do not upload camera images to our servers.

• Photo library (media): Used only so you can choose existing photos to attach to notes. Chosen images are copied into the app’s local storage. We do not upload them to our servers.

• Storage / files: Used to save and open encrypted backup files when you use Export or Import. Files are only written to or read from locations you choose (e.g. device storage, cloud apps via the system picker).
  

4. In-app purchases and subscriptions

If you buy Pro features (e.g. encrypted backup/restore), purchase and entitlement information is processed by the app stores (Google Play, Apple App Store) and by our purchase provider (RevenueCat) to deliver and restore your purchase. We do not use this data to build a profile of your note content. You can review RevenueCat’s privacy policy for more details.

5. Export and backup

Encrypted export and import are optional. Backup files are created and decrypted only on your device. Where you save or open those files (e.g. Google Drive, email, local storage) is your choice and is subject to those services’ privacy policies.

6. Children’s privacy

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us and we will work to delete it from the device where possible.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
